Charity...

I learned early on that giving back to the less fortunate is a must! Holland is an extremely giving country. As a 4th grader I already went door to door to raise money for Africa and other poverty stricken countries in need. Writing a check to your cause is great if you can afford to do so but being hands on and physically out there making a difference is the best feeling ever. Its a honor to serve humanity and it puts everything in perspective. My husband is an extraordinary philanthropist, his dedication and commitment to charity truly inspires me. The David Foster Foundation just celebrated their 25th anneversary. Sitting in the audience in Manilla at David's concert with 12,000 people, I felt such a connection, realizing that no matter where or what we came from we were all singing the same words to the Soundtrack of our lives, which made me feel so humble to know we had something in common. That trip, I also saw the darker side, the true poverty and the slums, so I committed and promised to come back and work with Habitat for Humanity and at the Belo Children's Cancer Ward in Manilla Hospital. I had never seen so much pain and disparity. Their beautiful little faces and the look in their eyes will stay with me forever. This journey was life changing for me and i will use the experience to always remind me to never stop giving, caring and doing my part to try and leave this world a better place then when i came into it.
